Happy Monday friends!
The spread I’m sharing today is from early February.
I’m not following strict weeks with Project Life this year and am allowing myself to put together spreads as I find the time. I am loving this approach since I’m filling my spreads up with as many photos and stories as it takes, rather than selecting only from a specific time frame.
However, I didn’t realize how long this spread had been sitting, waiting to be completed last month while 3/4 of our household battled ear infections and colds. I had printed these photos just about a week after they occurred but didn’t get to adding the journaling and putting it all together until last week. As a result, I felt really stuck when I first sat down with it and needed to remember the stories I wanted to tell.
In the end, spending a little time rearranging the cards and photos, recalling a few journal entries in Day One, and it came back to me. But it was a good lesson in realizing how easy it is to lose steam on a spread if I have to step away from it for a few weeks.
Before stepping away from the spread, I snapped a photo showing my process of picking out cards. Since my February Studio Calico kit had recently arrived, I thumbed through those cards first, choosing any that matched the colors of my photos. I passed on the pinks and yellows and went with grays and blues. And after that I searched my stash of Project Life cards to add any colors I was lacking, like a little more orange and green.
Starting with a stash of cards that “go” with my spread always helps as I piece together the photos and journaling, so that I’m not digging through everything I have in order to create something I’m happy with.
That’s all for today from me! How’s your Project Life-ing goes lately?
And before you go, please check out my former creative teammates and see what they’ve been creating lately:
