At the beginning of the year I set a goal to work on a 2010 album alongside my current album for 2014. Everything went smoothly through March, but then I jumped to September and had a hard time going back. I finally made time last month while Beau was out of town to get back into it, which mostly just meant forcing myself to close out my 2014 Lightroom library and open up 2010. Sometimes the first steps are the hardest. Once I had the 2010 photos on my screen again, the stories started jumping out of the photos, ready to be written down.
Completing this spread really reminded me of why I’m going back and documenting 2010. Our lives have changed so much in just 4 years and Ephram won’t remember any of it. Even I will have a hard time remembering it someday.
In this spread I used several of Ali Edwards’ digital brushes to print onto journaling cards. The ‘storm’ word art came from a free download she shared several years ago. The ‘around here’ and arrows are from her new prompts.
In July 2010, Ephram turned 4 months old and I started capturing his smile on camera more frequently. I knew I wanted to go big with that photo of him sort of sitting so I tried out a Design E page in this spread.
Since I had already picked out some journaling cards to use with the photos from this page before deciding to use the square format of Design E, I cut them into 3×3 squares and stapled them together to form a large 6×6 square.
The ‘celebrate America’ is another free download by Ali Edwards and I printed it on the tag by running it through the printer the same way I do with journaling cards. Super easy!
