Valentine’s Day is kind of a silly holiday. Or at least I thought so as I became a teenager and young adult. A special day just to give cards out? Pointless. But at nearly 30, I’m starting to realize just how special a tiny holiday can be. It gives you something to look forward to. Break up the every day routine. So, while this may be only the second Valentine’s Day card I’ve ever given Beau, it definitely won’t be the last.
When it comes to card making (other than birthday cards maybe) I always struggle with what to write on them. Which is probably why I don’t make them often enough. So when I saw Ali’s ‘Kiss Me’ digital set, I instantly knew I’d use one of the sentiments for this card.
To add a bit of color to the card, I planned to paint some hearts over the sentiment. I like the way watercolors look on watercolor paper, so I trimmed a sheet from this pad and fed it into my printer. Once the sentiment had been printed, I painted the hearts on in various colors.
I also printed some hearts from this set on the backside/inside of the card and painted them as well.
I played off of Ali’s “currently” journaling prompt to write down some of the ways I’m currently loving Beau on the inside of the card. Easiest (and best) Valentine’s card I’ve ever made for him.
