Hey guys! The end of the year is near and I have so many spreads to share still! Last week felt like a big catch up week for me, but in reality, I do a lot of planning before I print, and then end up putting a bunch of spreads together at once when I get the prints back. So, the real catch up was physically putting the photos into their spots, writing my journaling and then photographing them to share here on the blog.
The first is a spread from early October. And of course that means pumpkin season!
I used various cards from Studio Calico & Ali Edwards for this spread, focusing mostly on oranges and greens since those colors showed up a lot in the photos I took that week.
For this pumpkin card (from a Halloween Card kit Studio Calico offered in October), I stitched on a bit of paper to the right side to make the card fit the 4×4 slot.
The following week was mid-October and I ended up telling quite a few stories. This happened for two reasons. The first was that I finally set a daily reminder on the Day One app on my computer to remind me to journal a few minutes after I wake up. So helpful to have a reminder since it’s easy to forget to jot a few notes down. The second was that I used several of the prompts from Ali’s “Get Real” stamp set.
I used the digital version of the stamp set which meant lots of printing on tags, journaling cards and paper scraps. As much as I love physical stamps, using digital gets me thinking outside the box. This is a closer look at the different ways I used the stamps.
And lastly, Halloween. I’ve done a pretty good job of keeping up with weekly spreads this year. Sometimes I group together weeks if I slacked on photo taking and journaling, and other times, I’ve actually taken so many photos I couldn’t get it down to a week. Halloween was one of those.
I just loved so many of the photos and it was the first Halloween Ephram really was excited for. We also had friends come over to trick or treat with. So yes, it warranted a full spread.
The cards in this spread are all from the Halloween Card set that Studio Calico had, but I believe it’s currently sold out.
I created Ephram’s costume with the help of Pinterest and my mom. Had to get a big 6×8 photo into the spread to show it off a little.
Three spreads! In the books! My 2014 albums are getting full!
